This is the setting in which we want to commit our lives to one another, and we are thrilled that you are going to celebrate with us! Our wedding weekend will be filled with laughter and adventure. GETTING THERE Arriving by AirYou can fly into Denver International Airport or Eagle Airport. We’ve included information about both below. If you’re planning on renting a car (see information below about why you don’t need to!), we recommend Denver, because the drive to Vailis absolutely gorgeous.If you’re not renting a car, you can still fly into Denver, thanks to the Epic Mountain Express and Snowflake Limo. ABOUT VAIL Vail, a charming European-style village, continues to be a favorite vacation destination not only in the winter but also in the summer. This world-class mountain resort comes alive in the summertime with endless experiences, reliably pleasant weather and an abundance of exciting activities. Vail’s quaint village is full of activity, exquisite shopping, eclectic galleries and a variety of first-class restaurants serving fine wines and gourmet cuisine. PREPARING FOR THE TRIPVail is breathtaking in the summer. No, we mean it, it could literally take your breath away! The altitude is very high, and mountain weather can be extreme and unpredictable. High AltitudeVail is located about 8,000 feet above sea level. Altitude sickness can hit anyone, regardless of physical condition or age. The most common symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, and unrestful sleep The key to surviving high altitude is staying hydrated. So while there will be plenty of imbibing over the weekend, make sure some of what you’re imbibing is water. Also, please note that alcohol is more potent at high altitudes so be sure to drink a lot of water at all times. If possible, consider arriving early to give yourself time to adjust. Altitude sickness usually passes after 24 hours.Finally, please know that exposure to the sun is 40% greater than it is at sea level. Sunscreen (at least SPF 30) is recommended for all exposed skin, particularly the face, lips, and neck. Be certain to protect your eyes with sunglasses. You will also find Vail to be an arid climate, so hand lotion and lip balm are essential. Colorado has more than 300 days of sunshine each year, so we are hopeful for a beautiful and sunny wedding weekend, but the weather is often unpredictable and can quickly change in the mountains. The temperature during the day may reach up to 75 degrees or more, but nights in the mountains can get quite chilly (from 30-50 degrees). PACK YOUR BAGS It is very important that you pack your suitcase with the appropriate apparel.
